According to this site: "We [the city of Rochester] are the third largest urban area in New York State, and, in 1990 we were one of ten communities in the nation to receive the All-American-City award as a great place to live." In the past 15 years corporate juggernauts like Kodak, Xerox, and Bausch and Lomb have diminished in the area. Their buildings still scrape our skyline and leave hope that they will learn to compete in a global market place. Kodak, the largest corporate entity in Rochester, has cut thousands of jobs here leaving a LOT of people unemployed. Still, I like the area. Its not so big that we have bumper to bumper traffic every morning, but it is big enough to bring commercial and cultural interests to town.
