Babies, in general, are needy. They survive on their cuteness and pathetic little cries. I LOVE our little baby.. as needy as she may be..

A Walk in the Park with Mason and Friends

Kirk and I took our dogs (Daisy and Mason) out for a walk. We picked up one of the neighbors dogs along the way. (The owner forgot to put on the dog's invisible fence collar.) Our street ends at Durand Park. Its about a quarter of a mile away from our house and a lot of people bring their dogs there for walks. Once I get in the park, I often let Mason run off his leash so he can get the extra exercise. He loves to run around like a crazed hound sniffing and smelling everything. The neighbor's dog gave Mason an extra hard work out. Fortunately he's slightly larger than Mason and was able to stand up to Mason's abuse. I eventually had to put Mason back on his leash because he was getting too nippy.

There's more than one reason to celebrate today. We have a beautiful baby girl, we finally got some sleep (the first in many days), and its St. Patty's day! It seemed like the perfect time to crack open the single serving of single malt that Nelson (

audiogeek), Enry, and Brenda sent me. Thanks guys! As I write this, Abby's dad is making corned beef and cabbage and Abby is nursing Emma. I have the slightest bit of a "buzz." All is well!

We brought Emma home from the hospital today. We got home around 1PM. It was a crazy drive home... probably the slowest I've ever driven my 'rex. I'd love to chat about it, but I'm tired. Pics are here: http://www.iduprey.com/gallery/baby1

Yesterday our first child was born. On March 11, 2005 at 3:36 PM Margaret Ann "Emma" Duprey came into the world via a c-section. She is 8 pounds 13 ounces and 20 inches long. Abby is recovering and Emma is adjusting to a great big new world. I'd write more, but I need to shower, eat, and get back to the hospital. Pictures are here.
